Two of hearts...

Stacey Q, real name Stacey Lynn Swain, is an American singer-songwriter who really began her artistic career at the age of 18 not with song, but as a Showgirl, then as an elephant rider in the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

It was in 1981 that fate decided to make her switch to the world of song when he introduced her to Jon St. James, who was working on the formation of a group he had named "Q" (strange name which is in fact a reference to the character of the James Bond saga).

Providential meeting that allows young Stacy to quickly obtain the position of lead singer of the group. A group which must quickly change its name to SSQ because Quincy Jones claims the authorship of the name "Q". Very relative success group which produced only one album called "Playback" in 1983.

Her solo career began in 1985 when she signed with the independent label On The Spot Records. Label which allows her to release a first Single which bears the name of "Shy girl". And for a first title, the result is most satisfying since she obtains her first title classified in the USA.

A perfectly successful start to her career which reached its climax the following year with the release of the title "Two fo hearts". The title will make a real worldwide hit during 1986 and literally explode the reputation of the young singer internationally.

A year 1986 which also sees the release of her first album "Better than heaven". Album which confirms all the good that one could think of her and which in turn is a hit. Album which will produce two new Singles of big caliber with the titles "We connect" still in 1986 and "Insecurity" in 1987.

New album "Hard Machine" in 1988, somewhat disappointing album which will not really meet the same level of success as its predecessor. And who will struggle to produce any major Single except "Don’t make a fool of yourself".

The album "Night like this", which will be released a year later in 1989, will go completely under the radar. Only the title “Give you all my love” will save the furniture.

She will attempt the transition to the 90s with the release of an album and Singles that will not really meet the expected success ...

Tracks :

1983 ... the first steps. Within a group that was to say the least ephemeral and which would only be successful with this title. But it's a good start as they say !

1985 ... the first steps this time solo. On the strength of her previous experience, she managed to sign a first classified title. Of course, only in the USA, but it still serves as an ideal ramp for the rest of the events ...

1986 .... and what a series of events ! Here she signs quite simply one of the biggest dance hits of the decade and at the same time offers herself a direct ticket to posterity. MAS-TER-FUL !

1986 ... a year 1986 which will remain as his best Cru with a second title of great caliber in the wake. Admittedly, this title will not meet the same level of incredible success as the previous one but will largely pull out of the game at the planetary level

1987 ... unfortunately, the success will have been of very short duration with a rather brutal fall in the Charts the following year. An incredible reversal of the situation ...

1987 ... and yet she is far from unworthy. But the success has refocused again exclusively on the United States and nothing, and no one, will be able to bring the pretty Stacey back to the heights she experienced the previous year ...

1988 ... she will temporarily resurface with this title but the improvement will be very short-lived. A last major success which does not mean the end of his career but which augurs well for a continuation much more behind ...

1988 ... she continues to exist in the USA but it is clear that she is doing more some figuration than anything else now. Hard law of the trade ...

1989 ... this time, it is indeed the last time we hear about her. Here she gets a last very small hit which rhymes with end of adventure ...

1989 ... a real shame, it is precisely when she changes registers that she unfortunately disappears from the radar. Because this Intimist title largely holds the road and it would have deserved a recognition much higher than what it was ...

1993 ... and the transition four years later to Eurobeat mode will not change the situation. Mass is said and nothing, and no one, will be able to change anything ...

1997...which will not prevent her from continuing the adventure thereafter. Certainly she has disappeared from the Charts but what she continues to offer is far from unworthy, that's clear...

1997...the important thing as they say is to continue to believe in it and as in music everything is always possible, who knows...

1997...a miracle and a return to the forefront are still possible even if there is very little chance of them happening..

2009 ... she will even attempt a totally improbable comeback during the 2000s. She is far from being ridiculous but she is now part of the past. A constant that it will be impossible for her to change ...

2010... after she will have at least tried and just for that we can only salute this irrepressible will to believe in it always and again...

2010...so last title or not ? As with her nothing is ever finished, it could well be that we eventually find her again at one point or another...
