The way it is...

Bruce Horsnby is an American singer-songwriter who really started his artistic career at the end of the 1970s by playing in local clubs and hotel bars in Williamsburg.

At the very beginning of the 80s, we find him near Los Angeles with his brother John, brother with whom he will compose for 20th Century Fox for nearly 3 years.

From the year 1982 he joined the group 'Ambrosia', a group in which he participated in their last album "Road Island".

Two years later he decided to take his destiny into his own hands and formed 'The Range' with David Mansfield, George Marinelli, Joe Puerta and John Molo. Group that signed with the RCA Records label the following year in 1985.

Label which will allow the group to release its first album "The way it is" in 1986 and for a first try it is a real masterstroke. The album will be a real worldwide success and launch the group in a sensational way on the front of the international music scene. In particular thanks to the huge Single that bears the name of the album.

Two years later in 1988 it was the turn of the album "Scenes from the Southside" to be released, an album carried at arm's length by the Single "The valley road", a Single which will offer the artist the second most big success of all his discography after "The way it is".

At the rate of an album every 2 years it is the turn of "A night on the town" to be released in 1990, an album with less success than its 2 predecessors but with notable success all the same. Album which will mainly produce the big caliber title “Across the river”. Paradoxically, despite these repeated successes, the adventure did not go any further...

We find him in the 'Grateful Dead' during the years 1991 and 1992 before a solo switch from the year 1993. A year 1993 which sees the release of the album "Harbor lights", album with certain success and which confirms that even solo the singer can quite exist at the highest level. Album which will produce the hit Single "Fields of Gray".

New album "Hot house" in 1995, album which shows a very clear deceleration in terms of success in the Charts, both on the album side and on the Singles side. Only the Single "Walk in the sun" will manage to do well.

The machine will really seize up in 1998 with the failed release of the album "Spirit trail", an album with limited success to say the least and which will not produce any hit worthy of the name...

As a result, we find him in a new group called 'The Noisemakers' at the very beginning of the 2000s, a group with which he released the album "Big swing face" in 2002. An album that will go unnoticed to say the least.

The following "Halcyon days" will already be talked about a little more in 2004 and offer the artist two new little successes with the titles "Gonna be some changes made" the same year and "Dreamland" a year later in 2005 .

Other albums and other Singles will be released later but will not experience the level of success of those released at the end of the 80s.

1986...first solo title and first major success. The singer could not dream of a better gift as a welcome…

1986... not only will he subsequently confirm all the good that we could think of him, but above all he will sign here one of the biggest titles of the decade, just that. He landed here a planetary mega hit which will remain as the biggest success of his entire discography and at the same time landed a direct ticket for posterity. MAS-TER-FUL !

1986 ... almost impossible for this title to compete with the huge previous steamroller but from there to go almost unnoticed, there is still something to ask questions ...

1986... he will set the record straight directly behind just to show that what happened on the previous title was only a slight accident...

1988...not only will he have set the record straight, but he will even go so far as to land his 2nd biggest planetary success here and prove at the same time that he is surely not there by chance !

1988...as before the sequel which comes right after his mega hits cannot compete in terms of success in the Charts. But she is far from undeserving, that's clear...

1988... this title on the other hand will pass more or less 'through' unfortunately. It must be said that it would be a real feat if all his titles ended up at the top of the Charts...

1990...as a general rule, it is the titles released at the beginning of the year that benefit most from the favors of the public. So easy to deduce the level of success of this first title of the year 1990...

2005... and he thinks that it might be even better with 2 and he decides to push the song with a friend of him. A certain Elton John...

2019... the dropout will increase 3 years later with the release of this new opus. This time he will even release albums charts...

2019...and yet he is far from unworthy. But the gap with the competition is now such that staying at the top level became literally impossible...

2020... it doesn't matter to him now whether there is success or not as long as he takes pleasure in what he does. Who would blame him honestly...

2020... he will still have gone through a hell of a lot of decades and he's still there anyway. Which is not the case for a bunch of colleagues who started at the same time as him...

2022... what is certain is that he will not let go until the end and this to the delight of the fans of the first hour...

2022...especially since this 2020 decade sees the return of more and more former artists from the 80s, which can only encourage him to continue somehow...

2022... the production of titles has been impressive for a few years to say the least and shows that he is far from having said everything yet, especially singing everything...
