Doris D And The Pins is an Anglo-Dutch group formed in 1980 by songwriter-producers Hans Van Hemert, Piet Souer and Martin Duiser. Group builds mainly around its star singer Doris D, real name Debbie Jenner.
English singer who will be accompanied originally by 4 dancers Ingrid De Goede, Yvonne Van Splunteren, Irene Van Den Hoeven and Dona Baron. Four dancers who will be aptly nicknamed 'The Pins'.
The group released his first Single "Shine up" a year later in 1981, a Single which was to be a significant success in the Netherlands but also in Belgium and Germany.
A year 1981 which saw the release of 2 other Singles which are "Dance on" and "The marvelous marionettes", two Singles which will also know their hour of glory. Just like their eponymous debut album which also came out the same year.
Business deteriorated somewhat in 1982 when the group ended up in court over a dispute between Doris D Versus the Pins, a lawsuit ultimately won by Doris D. Following this trial, the singer changed the entire team of Pins, which would become the Risqué group, and hired four new dancers, this time all English.
The new version of the group released a new Single "Jamaica" still in 1982, Single which allows this reworked group to experience its first success.
A great adventure which continued in 1983 with the release of a new album "Aerobic dancing" and a new Single "Starting at the end", a Single with certain success but which unfortunately was the last for the group.
Other titles were released in 1984, as well as a new album "Starting at the end", but none of them enjoyed significant success, precipitating the downfall of the group, which eventually split up a year later in 1985.

Tracks :
1980 ... first title and biggest success of their entire discography, just that. A group that borders on caricature but with formidable efficiency !
1981 ... a year 1981 which will undoubtedly remain as their best vintage. The girls follow the hits in an impressive way and do not intend to stop there ...
1981 ... well, it's clear that the girls' style is perfectly pre-made, but the recipe works, no matter what. This is also the 80s ...
1982 ... the success is limited exclusively to the Old Continent but the girls are largely satisfied with it. Many bands of the time, often more talented, did not even have this level of success ...
1982 ... success will now fluctuate between titles. With a first deceleration on this title. We suspected that it was not going to last like that for years ...
1982 ... this title will not do better. This does not prevent the girls from continuing the adventure in any way. Rightly or wrongly, that's something else ...
1983 ... after a totally euphoric 1981, the girls are unable to reproduce the feat. And yet the style has evolved and rather in a good way ...
1983 ... a year 1983 which will see them do on the spot while they are far from unworthy. Beginning of the end or a slight passing air gap ? It is the future that will tell us ...
1984 ... they will succeed in saving the furniture with this title. But this will be the last time they will unfortunately raise their heads ...
1984 ... a year 1984 which will see them gradually disappear from the radar. A nice adventure that will have at least allowed them to exist, that's already it !
1984 ... one last title and then goes. Anyway, well done girls for your good humor and your light and airy style. This is also the 80s !
