Mantronix is an American group formed in 1984 in New York by Kurtis Mantronik (real name Kurtis El Khaleel) and MC Tee (real name Touré Embden).
The group released their first single "Fresh is the world" in 1985, a single which was to be highly regarded. A single that can be found on the album "Mantronix : The album", album which was released almost in stride and which would produce another major hit with the title "Bassline" the following year in 1986.
1986 saw the release of a new album called "Music Madness", an album which confirmed the group's rise to power and gave them their first global top hit with the title "Who is it ?", which was released in 1987.
Success confirmed and amplified a year later in 1988 with the release of the album "In full effect", an album which mainly produced the top hit "Simple Simon".
The real consecration, for its part, came in 1989 when the enormous single "Got to have your love" was released, which will be the only one of the year for the group but which will literally shatter everything on a planetary level. Single on the album "This should move ya" which came out in 1990 and which will produce another high caliber single with the title "Take your time".
The year 1991 saw the release of the album "The incredible sound machine", an album that did not experience the success of its predecessor, both on the album side and on the singles side. A failure which will precipitate the fall of the group unfortunately.

1990 ... as they understood that a female contribution could change everything, they put the cover back on this title. And it works again !
1991 ... the great adventure continues in this year 1991 but it is clear that the group is losing ground compared to the competition. Attention danger...
1991 ... a decline which will grow in title after title and that nothing, and no one, will be able to stop. The group does not demerit but its difficulty in renewing its style will unfortunately be fatal ...
1991 ... the adventure continues for some reason but there is more than them to believe it. The group is relegated to the depths of the Charts and does more some figuration than anything else ...
1996 ... and this is not the title that will change anything. 10 years after its debut, the group has reached the end of the adventure but can still boast of having produced one of the flagship titles of the 1980s !
