Glenn Frey was an American singer-songwriter best known for being one of the mainstays of the huge group The Eagles. Artist who began his artistic career in the mid-1960s with a group The Subterraneans.
We find him later in the Four Of Us, Mushrooms and finally Heavy Metal Kids before starting the incredible adventure of the Eagles from the year 1971. Adventure which will last nearly 10 years and produce several titles exceptional including 1 legendary with the cult "Hotel California".
The solo career therefore began in 1982 with the release of the album "No fun aloud", an album which was to be a significant success, mainly in the USA. In particular thanks to 2 flagship titles which are "I found somebody" but also, and especially, "The one you love", enormous single which gives him his first planetary top hit.
Success confirmed and amplified two years later with the release in 1984 of the album "The allnighter", album which remains to this day his biggest record success on the album side. Album that will mainly produce the flagship single "Sexy girl".
But the real consecration will come through movie soundtracks and not just any ! Starting with the Beverly Hills Cop, still in 1984, where he performed the flagship title "The heat is on", which was to be one of the biggest hits of the year.
But that's without counting on the soundtrack of the Miami Vice series for which he delivered 2 titles the following year in 1985 : first "Smuggler's blues" (a title actually taken from the album "The Allnighter") followed of little of the enormous “You belong to the city”, title which will offer him the biggest success of his solo career side single.
After 2 totally euphoric years, we will have to wait 3 years before seeing the arrival of his new album called "Soul searchin" in 1988. Album with less success than its predecessor but which will still produce the top hit "True love".
New album "Strange weather" four years later in 1992, album which confirms the progressive decline of the artist. The success of the album is relative and will save the furniture only thanks to 2 "small" hits which are "Part of me, part of you" and "I’ve got mine".
Two little hits that will unfortunately be the las
A magnificent adventure which will end definitively on January 18, 2016, when the singer died at the age of 67 from complications related to rheumatoid arthritis.
To discover or rediscover.

Clips :
1982 ... first title of the solo career and already first classified title. The Eagles page is well and truly closed and the artist brilliantly proves that he can now exist alone at the highest level ...
1982 ... a year 1982 to say the least exceptional with a second title which raises the singer to a level of success for the less bluffing. In addition, on a very beautiful Intimist track. MA-GIC !
1983 ... a year 1983 which will unfortunately not have much to do with the year 1982. A single title and to the success of the most modest. Mighty reversal of the situation ...
1984 ... luckily business resumes in this new year 1984. The singer finds a level of inspiration much higher than it was the previous year and the result is immediate in the Charts with a new top hit in the key !
1984 ... but that's without counting on THIS title ! The title of the solo consecration, a title that we find on the soundtrack of the film "The Beverly Hills cop" and which will make a real worldwide hit. So much so that he offers the singer his direct ticket to posterity. MAS-TER-FUL !
1985 ... hard to match the incredible success of the previous title. This title does not lack interest but it is clear that the level of inspiration is a notch below ...
1985 ... decidedly, the soundtracks bring him luck ! The proof with this title specially designed for the series "Miami Vice" and which allows him to access once again the highest steps of the Charts. HU-GE !
1988 ... he suddenly disappears from radars for 2 years and here he is again in a certain form in this year 1988. Sufficient form in any case to sign a new top hit !
1988 ... the upturn will unfortunately be short-lived. He will never regain the level of success of previous years and will have to be content to do more some figuration than anything else ...
1989 ... a second part of the 1980s which did not really succeed. The adventure continues, of course, but its level of inspiration is really no longer sufficient to hope to compete on an equal footing with the competition ...
1991 ... he will still know a last major hit with this title but it will indeed be the last. When it doesn't want anymore, it doesn't want anymore ...
1992 ... the end is fast approaching. What did not work during the end of the 1980s will not work anymore in this 1990s. Hard law of the trade ...
1992 ... we end as we started, that is to say with finesse. The end of an incredible adventure for the artist who will have had 2 breathtaking careers and who will undoubtedly remain as one of the musical figures of the end of the 20th century !
2012... when we thought we wouldn't see him again soon, here he is back almost 20 years. All in luxury covers of old standards from the past, starting with this revisited version of a title dating from 1945 and popularized by The King Cole Trio...
2012...he revisits here a title that will be found in the film 'The sandpiper' in 1965 and especially popularized later by Tony Bennett. An angel passes as they say...
2012...a last title which comes to complete an extraordinary adventure for an artist who will have counted during his time. What more can be said...
