The Dumoutier case...

The Box is a Canadian group formed in Montreal in 1981 and composed of Jean-Marc Pisapia, Guy Florent and Jean-Pierre Brie.

They will experience their first success in 1984 with the release of the eponymous album which will produce two single hits "Walk away" and "Must I always remember".

A year later in 1985, the album "All the time, all the time, all the time" was released, which did even better than its predecessor in terms of ranking. Album which surely produces what will remain as one of their biggest title namely "The Dumoutier Affair (Say to me)".

Supreme consecration in 1987 with the release of the album "Close together" which remains their biggest commercial success to this day. From which will be extracted 3 new hits with the eponymous single as the flagship title.

It was not until 1990 that the album "The pleasure and the pain" was released. Another major success was notably thanks to the single "Carry on" which will stay in history as their highest ranked single.

Success which will be their last because the group will separate two years later in 1992.

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1984 ... a first title which reveals a group with a certain talent and a rather particular sound. Astonishing ...

1984 ... the rest is very typical "American rock" 80s. There is really a glaring difference between the sound in North America and the sound of the Old Continent during this decade. What made all its charm elsewhere

1984 ... which will surely remain as one of their best titles. And as paradoxical as it may seem, it was not classified ...

1985 ... a touch of French as a reminder that the group is not from the English-speaking part of Canada. All on an excellent track which shows that this group really has talent !

1986 ... one little title and then it goes. A minimalist 1986 certainly, but the quality is not. The group has found an excellent sound which is the perfect mix between those of the 2 continents ...

1987 ... back to pure rock. For sure, a group that has remained fairly confidential and which would have deserved a much larger audience ...

1987 ... yet another original title, unlike any other and which once again shows the full extent of their sonic possibilities

1990 ... a change of decade which rhymes with a return to pure rock sounds. It beats hard, to say the least !

1990 ... a beautiful and big year which saw them field no less than 3 hits of great caliber. Unfortunately, we are slowly but surely approaching the end ...

1990 ... the end of it. Once again in rock mode that beats up. And it works, once again ! But it will be the last ...

1995...come on, it's not quite over but it's clear that the best years are now behind them. It remains to be seen what they intend to offer during this decade 90...

2005...a 90s decade when not much happened. Here they are back 10 years later with this new opus...

2009...a 2000 decade which sees them a little more inspired than the previous decade with 2 albums released during this decade. We take, we take...

2009...even if that won't allow them to come back in the race in a noticeable way, they continue to exist at least. Isn't that the main thing...

2014...and here they are again in this new decade of 2010. We therefore imagine that this title will not be the last...
