Sideway Look is a Scottish group formed during the first half of the 80s and originally composed of Colin Thom, Brian Smith, John Baird, Johnny O'Neil and Iain Hardie.
Group which officially released a first self-titled album in 1984, an album from which the Singles "Knowing you from today" and "Tell me tonight" were taken the same year as well as "Till the bitter end" which was released a year later in 1985.
Album which will not go unnoticed, far from it, but the differences of opinion with their label Virgin Records on the following events will considerably weigh down the rest of their career.
A new album "Taming the blade" will painfully succeed in being released in 1988 but will mark the definitive end of the adventure unfortunately...
To discover or rediscover.

Clips :
1984...a first title of certain quality which shows that this small group has the potential to do great things. To be continued as they say...
1984... title after title it is clear that the group will necessarily produce THE title that goes well at one time or another. So let's be patient...
1984...a first opus of more than certain quality which clearly shows that all the bases are good. They just lack the little + to make all the difference...
1985...especially since they are good in all areas, whether fast or, conversely, fine and light. Everything to please...
1985...but still no major title on the horizon. The set is good, we can't deny it, but still no title that could really set them apart from the crowd...
1987... suddenly they say to themselves that by possibly adding a female voice the difference could be made on top. Nice try but losing bet in the end...
1988... that does not prevent them from continuing to believe in it in any case. And in principle they are absolutely right, who would blame them frankly...
1988... it is clear that the group's career will not last decades but all that they have produced is far from deserving, it is clear...
1989...a discography which will only include 2 opuses in the end but 2 opuses with a certain quality. Too bad the group never managed to find the access key to the very high level...
1989...because they had everything they needed but fate decided otherwise. Often it is played on details or on a stroke of luck that will never happen...
