Amy Grant is an American singer-songwriter whose particularity apart from being a singer is that she is also nicknamed "The Queen of Christian Pop". She can also boast of having sold no less than 30 million records around the world to date and of having won no less than 6 Grammy Awards in the Gospel category, just that !

Singer who started her career quite early since she obtained her first contract with the Word Records label at the age of 16. Label which allows her to release a first eponymous album a year later in 1977. Album which will offer her a first notorious success in the Christian Charts category with the title "Old man's rubble" in 1978.

A first success that will call for other albums, with "My father's eyes" in 1979, "Never alone" in 1980 and "Age to age" in 1981. The latter producing her biggest success to date on the Singles side with the title "Sing your praise to the Lord" a year later in 1982.

It is from the year 1984 that she will begin to leave her very typical Christian register to slide gently towards classic pop. Starting with the album "Straight ahead", the first album to be classified in the so-called 'Classic' Charts. Album which will produce mainly the title "Angels".

A reorientation which was confirmed the following year in 1985 with the release of the album "Unguarded", an album which would allow her to be recognized as a full-fledged pop singer and above all to obtain 2 very high-calibre successes on the side Singles with "Wise up" on the one hand but also, and above all, with "Find a way" on the other hand.

A rise in power on the classic pop side which is confirmed with the release of the album "Lead on me" in 1988, an album which will mainly produce the Single of the same name.

The 80s will have seen her reveal herself in an impressive way, but it is the 90s that will definitively consecrate her with the huge album "Heart in motion" in 1991, an album that will make a real worldwide hit and offer her her most great success on the Singles side with the titles "That's what love is for", "Every heartbeat" and especially "Baby baby", a Single which will remain as the highest ranked of all her discography.

The album "House of love" which will be released 3 years later in 1994 will not be able to match the performance of its predecessor despite very honorable sales scores. Just like the albums that will be released later and there will be a few…

1978... who would imagine in this year 1978 and with this first title that the young Amy will become in a few years one of the leading singers in the USA. Not many people, that's for sure...

1978...it is clear that her fame for the moment is limited exclusively to the Christian Charts. Charts that can only be found in the USA, a very 'local' specificity...

1978...three titles produced that year and the 3 will be classified. A notable performance which is necessarily a good omen for the rest of the events...

1979...the year 1979 will unroll in the same way as the previous year. The young singer now unrolls quietly and above all surely...

1979... in just 2 years she will have become one of the great female hopes of the moment and she does not necessarily intend to stop there, that's clear. It remains to be seen what the next decade has in store for her...
