Ph. D. is an English group formed in 1981 and composed of Jim Diamond, Tony Hymas and Simon Philipps. The name of the group would simply be the initials of the names of the three members (Philips, Hymas and Diamond).
An eponymous debut album was released the same year and produced a first single "Little Suzi’s on the up". Single that goes relatively unnoticed.
It was a year later in 1982 that they achieved their heyday with the hugely massive single "I won’t let you down". The single made a real worldwide hit and propelled the group to the top of Charts around the world.
Another single "There’s no answer to it" follows in stride but absolutely cannot compete with the previous steamroller.
The year 1983 saw the release of the album "Is it safe ?", album that will produce two new singles "I didn’t know" and "Fifht of May". But the bellows fell as quickly as it had been put on and the album, as well as the two singles, were only relatively successful.
The group did not recover and ended up breaking up shortly thereafter.
To discover or rediscover.

1982 ... then comes THIS title. This single title was enough to make them fit One Shot into the musical legend of the 80s. Undoubtedly one of the most emblematic titles of the beginning of the decade. HU-GE !
1982 ... a sequel that has absolutely nothing to do with the previous title. The classification in the Charts therefore has nothing to do either ...
1983 ... a track already a little more inspired. But that will not be enough to reverse the trend, the end is near ...
