The Primitives is an English group formed in Coventry in 1984 by PJ Court (real name Paul Jonathan Court), Steve Dullaghan, Peter Tweedie and Keiron McDermott. The latter will be replaced quickly by Tracy Tracy (real name Tracy Cattell), who will take the lead on the vocals side never to leave it.
The group released their first single "Thru the flowers" two years later in 1986, a single which unfortunately went somewhat unnoticed ...
They will have to wait for the following year and the passage at RCA to finally land their first ranked title with the single "Stop killing me".
Recognition, the real one, came a year later in 1988 with the release of the album "Lovely", an album with certain success and which above all gave them the biggest success of all their discography with the enormous single "Crash" .
A success that was not denied in 1989 with the release of a new hit album "Pure", album whose flagship single will be "Sick of it".
Unfortunately, the great adventure will come to an end with the release of the album "Galore" in 1991, an album that will save furniture in extremis with the title "You are the way".
Failure from which the group will not recover and which will end up separating in the months that will follow…to reform 20 years later.

1988 ... on the other hand, this one will not lack recognition, that is clear. So much so that the group landed here the biggest success of all its discography and at the same time offered himself a direct ticket for posterity. HU-GE !
1988 ... impossible for this title to compete with its predecessor as the bar has been set high. But it doesn't matter, the group is now in geostationary orbit and is unrolling quietly ...
1988 ... the group signs here a new title of very big caliber which shows once again that they are certainly not there by chance. And on this one, the overspeed does not spoil anything, a real feat !
1989 ... the group now perfectly masters its destiny and unrolls with ease to say the least impressive. And always in this particularly punchy style that will remain their Factory mark forever ...
1989 ... it's off again in high-voltage mode, we won't remake them again as they say. Afterwards, we suspect that at some point, this overspeed will eventually tire ...
1991 ... like what, when they want, they can play it much softer. A transition to the 90s which rhymes with a very clear slowdown in tempo but also with the end of the adventure. And yes, already ...
1991 ... a group which will have played it festive until the end. An adventure that we would have liked to see go a little further in time but unfortunately fate will have decided otherwise ...
2011 ... and as incredible as it may seem, when we thought the case was totally folded, here they are reappearing as if by magic 20 years later. Incredible but true...

2014 ... the years pass, and even the decades, without the group changing anything, neither in its sound, nor in its style. No doubt this is the best way to get back into the race ...
2017 ... time seems definitively frozen with them. When did they stay stuck : 1970, 1980 ...? The 2 my Captain ...
2017 ... this time, would it really be the end ? Ooh there, with them, nothing is ever finished at first glance. They could therefore be found in the next decade. To be continued as they say ...
