Never underestimate the power of a woman...

Klymaxx is an American all-female group formed in Los Angeles in 1979 and originally composed of Bernadette Cooper, Lorena Porter Shelby, Cheryl Cooley, Robin Grider and Lynn Malsby.

A group that released a first album in 1981 called "Never underestimate the power of woman", an album with very modest success but which would still offer the girls their first success with the title that bears the name of the album.

The same goes for the album "Girl with be girls" which would not do better than its predecessor in 1982 but which would save the furniture with the title that also bears the name of the album.

The album "Girls in the band" which came out a year later in 1983 would fare less well with this time no major Single to the key...

We could have feared the worst with this release which was to say the least failed but it is quite the opposite which will happen with the very successful release in 1984 of the following album "Meeting in the ladies room". Album which will be a real global hit and project the girls to the forefront of the international music scene in a way which is to say the least resounding, in particular thanks to the enormous Single "I miss you".

They will not succeed in repeating the feat 2 years later when the album "Klymaxx" is released but the album will still know a significant success mainly thanks to the flagship Single "Man size love".

We find them again in 1990 with the album "The Maxx is back", an album that sees them start the 90s in a positive way to say the least but without allowing them to produce any hit of planetary class.

New album "One day" in 1994, an album that will turn out to be the last for the girls.

To discover or rediscover...

Tracks :

1981...a first title that will not go unnoticed, far from it. Of course, the success will be limited to the R&B Charts but still...

1981...we will quickly realize that they are as effective in Dance as in the 'emotional' register which can only reassure us about the rest of the events...

1981...a title that will not be officially released as a Single but of obvious quality. Might as well bring it back into the spotlight as it deserves...

1981...same for this one. But given the number of quality titles offered from the start, it would be a shame not to bring them out of the shadows into the light...

1982...this one on the other hand will be officially released as a Single but will go under the radar to say the least. Nice try all the same...

1982...the girls absolutely do not lose hope and they are absolutely right to believe in it since this title will be ranked opposite to its predecessor...

1982...a nice title with finesse that would have also deserved to see the light of day but unfortunately this will not be the case. Frankly a shame...

1982...another title that will not be officially released but that we will bring back into the light in a completely natural way because it is worth it...

1984...they had to wait until the middle of the decade to take off in a significant way. Starting with this title...

1985...the first title of a year 1985 which will turn out to be exceptional for the girls but they don't know it yet at this stage...

1985...this title will not reach the level of success achieved by its predecessor but no reason to worry at this stage given what is on the horizon...

1985...because here comes THE title of consecration ! The girls will simply get the biggest success of their entire discography and will also earn themselves a place of choice in the musical Pantheon of the 80s. HU-GE !

1986... two global successes one after the other, what more could you ask for ? Of course, this one will have a lower level of success than its predecessor, but still...

1986...the drop in the Charts will be violent to say the least with this title but the girls will not panic more than that for all that...

1986...and they were right not to panic more than that since they are going to get a new top hit here. All good girls !

1986...unfortunately the relapse afterwards will be much more serious with this time a decline that they will never manage to stem...

1990...they will succeed in achieving one last major success with this title but it will indeed be the last. The best is now far behind...

1990...they are not going to give up just yet, but it is clear that seeing them come back into the race is a miracle now...

1990...we will benefit no matter what from everything they continue to offer because there is still quality in all of that, it must be said...

1990...no longer being ranked in the Charts does not mean the end of the adventure. That's what they tell themselves and in principle they are absolutely right...

1994...the very last hit and still of low magnitude. In any case, they will have still succeeded in 10 great years and for that alone, bravo ladies !

1994...a final opus that won't allow them to reverse the course of time. It's a good try but it won't be enough in any case...

1994...it is true that in music everything is possible but concerning them the mass is well and truly said. There will therefore be no sequel to this story...

1994...unless they decide to come back later. Which is not the case at this stage and so we will have to wait a little longer...

1994...or not. Because there is no guarantee that they will want to do it again and take the risk of making a comeback for nothing...
