Mondo Rock is an Australian band formed in 1976 in Melbourne and originally composed of Bob Bickerton, Mike Clarke, Greg Cook, Peter Laffy and Ross Wilson.
A band that produced a first Single "The fugitive kind" in 1978, a title that allowed them to achieve their first success right away.
The band's first album "Primal park" was released a year later in 1979, an album that confirmed that the band had managed to make a name for himself. An album that paradoxically did not produce any major hits unfortunately...
A poor performance that they would counterbalance the following year with the successful release in 1980 of the Single "State of the heart", a Single taken from the album "Chemistry". An album that would be released a year later in 1981 and which would remain their highest-ranked album of all.
New album "Nuovo mundo" in 1982, an album with necessarily less success but which will still produce three big-caliber titles which are "No time" and "The queen and me" the same year, as well as "In another love" the following year in 1983.
On the Singles side, it is the year 1984 which will bring them one of their biggest successes with the enormous title "Come said the boy", flagship Single taken from the album "The modern bop" which will also be released in 1984.
It is the year 1986 which will definitively consecrate them on the Singles side with the release of the enormous "Primitive love rites", single which will offer them their only top global hit of their entire discography.
A feat that will be the one and only because everything that will come out after will not know in any way the level of success reached in this middle of the 80s.

Tracks :
1978...a first title that will not go unnoticed, at least in their native land. You will tell me, it is still better than nothing...
1979...a slightly more confidential sequel which reminds the group that there is still work to be done, despite a very favorable start to their career...
1979...this favorable start will at least have shown that the foundations are good and that there is every reason to hope for a sequel worthy of the name...
1979...what is certain is that this year 1979 will not remain as their best vintage. Three titles will be released that year and none will have been classified unfortunately...
1980...business is picking up with this new title, which shows that with a little work anything is possible concerning them...
1981...the beginning of the 80s which saw them clearly gaining strength, which can only be reassuring for the rest of the events...
1981...now all that remains is to produce THE title that will make all the difference. They are clearly working on it, we just have to let time take its course...
1981...three titles for this year 1981 and this time all three will have been classified. Once again only in Australia but the main thing is that they were classified...
1982...a year 1982 which starts off on more or less the same basis as 1981 with a level of success which is undeniable in the land of Kangaroos...
1982...it is obvious that all their efforts will eventually pay off in a significant way, it cannot be otherwise...
1983...because there is real talent in this group. They just have to find that little something extra that will finally make them take off for good...
1983...success now extends to the entire southern sphere. Their level of influence increases year after year, title after title...
1984...a first part of the decade perfectly controlled even if they still haven't managed to get the rocket off the ground...
1984... everything is ready in any case for it to take off, both in terms of style and sound. It's just a matter of time...
1984...we will have to wait until the second half of the decade for the miracle to possibly happen because for the moment everything is staying at the same level...
1985...and this title will even go 'through' as they say, not necessarily reassuring all that. But it could be that things evolve very quickly...
1986...a year 1986 which starts slowly but surely on the Charts side, which reassures a little on the fact that the group has not gone downhill more than that...
1986...not only did they not unscrew but they will finally succeed in producing THE title of recognition, the real one ! Moreover, planetary this time, which does not spoil anything, quite the contrary. HU-GE !
1986...the euphoria will be very fleeting but the main thing is done as they say. They had to prove to the whole world that they were entitled to their quarter of an hour of glory, it is now done...
1987...the rest will be much less favorable to them with a complete downturn in the Charts. Hard law of the trade...
1990...which will not prevent them from trying to move on to the next decade. A desire to believe until the end that will pay off in any case...
1991...certainly it won't pay off for years and years but it will definitely be the case at the start of the 90s...
1991...an adventure that will not go any further than this year 1991 unfortunately. Too bad the group did not want to persevere a little longer...
2004...we thought we would never see them again and here they are back in a way that was unexpected to say the least in this decade of the 2000s. A return that was furtive...
