Champagne is a Dutch band formed in 1976 and originally consisting of Paulette Bronkhorst, Trudy Huysdens, Bert Van Der Wiel and Jan Vredenburg.
Group which will experience its moment of glory from its first title with the enormous Single “Rock and Roll star” the same year.
They will not be able to repeat the feat the following year in 1977 but they will still manage to produce 2 new high-calibre Singles with “Oh me Oh my goodbye” and “Valentino”. Two tracks taken from their one and only album which will also be released that year and which simply bears their name.
Other Singles were released subsequently but only enjoyed a limited level of success, to say the least.

Tracks :
1976...first title and already the biggest success of their entire discography. A start with a bang which necessarily positions them ideally for the rest of the events...
1976...a huge success that they will be unable to reproduce later unfortunately. After that it won't stop them from releasing other titles...
1977...the only problem with this quartet is that it still looks a lot like another one, not the least of which is Abba. With a destiny that is not really going to be the same...
1977...it is certain that the comparison will not help, especially in relation to what each group produces. One will literally crush the other in terms of quality...
1977...afterwards there is room for everyone as they say. But it’s clear that playing in the same league as Abba doesn’t help, that’s for sure…
1977...for the moment it doesn't affect them in any way. As long as there is a minimum of success, they say to themselves that the adventure is 100 % worth living...
1978...in principle they are absolutely right but they had better make the most of these rare moments because it won't last like this for much longer...
1978... male-female quartets typical of the 70s and which we will find much less in the following decade. Rare species as they say...
1979...they will have experienced the best during this 70s decade and what is taken is no longer to be taken. At least they will have to be content with it for lack of anything better...
1979...they tried to cast a wide net with a few passages through the Intimist register. It starts with a good intention but they will never succeed in excelling unfortunately...
1979...they will mainly remain in history for 1 title but they will always be able to tell themselves that their entire discography was not that ridiculous...
1979...nothing extraordinary of course but titles in perfect harmony with their time. What more could you ask for in these conditions...
1979... it's a shame that the level of inspiration remained too average to succeed in the big leagues because there was room for improvement...
1979...but it is clear that on certain titles we really border on caricature. Melodies too simplistic to hope to break through at the highest level, it is clear...
1980...they will still try to move on to the next decade but the competition is now light years ahead...
1980...their style remained too simplistic and somewhat old-fashioned in the face of an armada of young artists who discovered the full potential of drum machines and synths of all kinds...
1980...they will have at least tried. It is clear that it was almost mission impossible to last for decades without a major evolution in terms of style and sound...
1983...an adventure that will not go beyond the beginning of the 80s. How to fight on equal terms in the face of competition that will have done them no favors...
1983...an adventure that we would describe as pleasant in any case and so typical of this era when anything was allowed...
