Let me be your angel...

Stacy Lattisaw is an American singer who started her singing career from pre-adolescence. She recorded her first album in 1979 when she was only 12 years old.

It was in 1980 that she reached the top of the charts with the enormous "Jump to the beat".

But other titles like "Love on a two-way-street", "Let me be your angel" and "Miracles" will also have a good journey.

She released 5 successful albums between 1981 and 1986 and ended with a last big success in 1989 with the title "Where do we go from here".

Last success before she decides to permanently withdraw from show biz and its glitter, disenchanted and disgusted by the system.

To discover or rediscover...

Tracks :

1979 ... what better way to start than a small luxury cover of a Marvelettes title dating from 1967. And my faith, the copy holds up, it's clear ...

1980 ... the rest turns out to be much more rhythmic, it has to be said. A 100 % Funky title that offers young Stacy her first notorious hit

1980 ... then comes THIS title. She simply signs here one of the biggest Dance hits of the 80s if not of the end of the XXth century. A sumptuous title which raises One Shot the young singer to the rank of planetary star. MAS-TER-FUL !

1980 ... after the effort, the comfort. What could be better than a quality Ultimate Slow for that. She is as good in Dance as in Intimist, an extremely rare fact for such a young singer !

1981 ... come on, 2 for the price of 1 ! And one more Ultimate Slow on the clock. As long as it works, why deprive yourself of it as they say

1981 ... back to Dance mode. Admittedly, this title will not have the same level of success as its predecessors but we will be largely satisfied

1982 ... she alternates with obvious mastery Dance titles and Intimist titles. Extreme versatility and above all extremely precious at this level

1982 ... back to Dance but paradoxically very smoothly. She blends styles and tempos with obvious ease for our enjoyment

1982 ... yes, this Ultimate Slow will not remain as its best but she once again delivers a copy that holds water. Miss 0 waste !

1983 ... another large caliber ballad of which she has undoubtedly become one of the specialists of the moment. Nothing exceptional but just a good job

1983 ... she signs here one of her best titles and yet this title will only have a fairly limited success in the Charts. An astonishing underperformance. Very surprising ...

1984 ... the Ultimate Slow is even better at 2 ! A year 1984 that she will spend entirely with Johnny Gill. With 3 key titles in common and great results in the Charts. What more...

1984 ... second title of the magic duo. Their association works particularly well, to say the least. Beautiful osmosis !

1984 ... after 2 Intimist songs of large caliber, the 2 lovebirds play it Dance, Dance, Dance. And it works my faith very well all that !

1985 ... a mid 80's which is not necessarily the best period for the singer. The level of success is in free fall in the Charts and she must be recovered quickly. Very quickly...

1986.. after a year 1985 to say the least calamitous, the singer returns in force in this year 1986. A winning return thanks to this title Dance which grooves serious. All good !

1987 ... we can hardly blame her for putting good will into it, that's clear. Even if the number of titles released has seriously decreased, the few that come out are of sufficient quality to keep her in the lead

1987 ... back to basics with this new Ultimate Slow. A nice title but which will not prevent a brutal stall in the Charts. Unfortunately, she will no longer be able to stop this time ...

1989 ... the end of a decade which saw her gradually disappear from radars. A magnificent adventure which is coming to an end and which has at least had the merit of producing several titles which will remain in the musical history of the 80s

1989 ... the Ultimate Slow, decidedly, her favorite field and in which she feels best. And once again, this field allows her to get a notable success. But who will be the last unfortunately ...
