Vaya Con Dios is a Belgian band formed in 1986 and originally composed of Dirk Schoufs, Dani Klein (real name Danielle Schoovaerts) and Willy Willy (real name Willy Lambregt). The band is considered to this day as one of the most successful Belgian bands with no less than 10 million albums and more than 3 million Singles sold worldwide.
A band that will make a spectacular entrance on the scene with its first title a year later in 1987 with a title called "Just a friend of mine", a title that will be a real hit, particularly in France and Belgium. Single from the album that simply bears the name of the group and which will be released a year later in 1988.
New album "Night owls" two years later in 1990, album that confirms and above all amplifies the level of success achieved by the group in particular thanks to two Singles that are "Nah neh nah" but also, and above all, "What's a woman". This time the success extends to all of Europe.
The year 1991 will unfortunately not resemble the previous ones with strong tensions between Schoufs and Klein, then the departure of Schoufs, who will die some time later of an overdose of medication, alcohol and drugs then only 29 years old.
Which does not mean the end of the adventure because the group, in its new version, releases the album "Time flies" the following year in 1992. Album that further extends the group's influence and is carried forward by the two huge titles "Heading for a fall" and "Time flies".
We will have to wait until 1995 to see the release of the new album "Roots and wings", an album with notable success once again but which paradoxically will struggle to produce big-caliber Singles.
Despite this new success, the group will have to take a break since Dani Klein is exhausted and must therefore take it easy.
The group will come back later but will never again manage to find the same level of success as in the past.
