Is this the end ?

Pink Industry is an English band formed in Liverpool in 1982, originally consisting of Jayne Casey and Ambrose Reynolds.

Group which released the same year a first mini album called “Forty five”, mini album with great success in particular thanks to the title “Is this the end ?" .

First official album “Low technology” a year later in 1983, an album which allowed them to achieve their first major success, particularly in the independent Charts.

A year 1983 which even saw the release of a second album “Who told you you were naked ?” », album which will end up ranked even better than its predecessor without being able to produce a hit worthy of the name.

It was the album “New Beginnings”, which was released in 1985, which brought them their biggest Single success with the title “What Wouldn’t I Give”.

Major success which will be the last because the group will end up separating some time later...

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1982...the style and sound are trendy but the general atmosphere will not at this stage attract ordinary mortals, it is clear...

1982...but there is potential in this group, that's for sure. Then it's up to them to see what type of audience they want to attract in the end...

1983...for the moment the public insider option is favored at first glance. After a career can sometimes have nice surprises in store in this type of orientation...

1983...but very few groups will have been able to break through to the highest level by favoring this type of music. It's a risk to take...

1983...a musical style that we will find more at the beginning of the decade than at the end among most groups who have decided to take this very particular path...

1983...some titles may seem really obscure, we're not going to lie. But that's also the magic of this blessed decade...

1983...they push the envelope a little far on certain titles all the same. We border on the experimental and sometimes simply the inaudible...

1983...which does not prevent them from classifying their albums in the Independent Charts which de facto shows that there is indeed an audience behind them...

1983...a particular audience, certainly, but an audience all the same. A public who believes in them and who tells themselves that over time the group will end up producing THE title that will set them apart from the crowd...

1985...but it won't be for the moment anyway. Things are progressing little in the direction of standardizing their sound in any case...

1985...everyone leads their career as they wish and that's what they say to each other every day when they get up. No constraint or pressure at this stage...

1985...a genre of music not to be listened to under any circumstances, that's for sure. Afterwards there is something for all tastes...

1985...the group will have evolved little over the years and there is inevitably a price to pay in these cases. Hard law of the trade...

1985...yet the potential was there but they would not have known - or wanted - to move towards a sound that was a little more general...

1985...the price to pay in these cases being a somewhat shortened career given the lack of commercial success...

1985...we had to wait until almost the end of the adventure to see them produce what will remain as their reference title. Better late than never...
