How high the moon...

The Polecats is an English group formed in 1977 in London and originally composed of Tim Worman, Martin Boorer, Phil Bloomberg and Chris Hawkes.

Group which signs with the label Nervous Records in 1979, label which will allow them to release a first Single “Rockabilly guy” the same year, Single which will pass somewhat unnoticed…

Change of label the following year in 1980 and passage to Mercury Records, label with which they will release their first album "Polecats are go!" ” a year later in 1981. Album which will remain as their highest ranked of all and which also offers them their first major success with the title “John, I’m only dancing”.

They will achieve a second success two years later in 1983 with the title "Make a circuit with me", a success which will be the last unfortunately...

Clips :

1981...first title and already first success. Afterwards, the group must hurry to take advantage of it because this success linked to their style, which is atypical to say the least, may not last for years and years...

1981... the title released in 1979 reappears two years later and will know a much more favorable fate. A very trendy rockabilly style at the very beginning of the 80s but which unfortunately will not remain so for very long...

1981...after having revisited David Bowie and his title 'John, I'm only dancing' dating from 1972, they decide to revisit here the title of the T.Rex dating from 1971. Luxury covers that succeed at the highest level point for now...

1981...a year 1981 which sees them at their best with a succession of titles which, in my opinion, work very well. Even if some like this will not be classified...

1981...a year 1981 which will undoubtedly remain as their best Vintage. Not sure that the result will be as favorable to them...

1983...the last major success, and yes already. We suspected that with a style of music like theirs, success would not last for decades and decades...

1984... that won't stop them from continuing the adventure but there will only be the basic fans to follow them from now on...

1984... after that remains to be seen if they will have the courage to continue for a very long time under these conditions. The future will tell us...

1989...we will lose sight of them for almost 5 years but they will still come back at the very end of the decade. Like what nothing is ever finished in music...

1989...it is clear that their style no longer sticks to the new musical standards of the moment. After that, everyone needs it, as they say...

1992...they will attempt the transition to the 90s but that will not change much in the situation. When it no longer wants, it no longer wants...

1992... they will have at least tried but it is clear that they now do more some figuration than anything else. An adventure that will have allowed them in any case to produce several Singles with significant success which is already more than not bad...
