Arno, real name Arnold Hintjens, was a Belgian singer who started his artistic career in a duo called 'Tjens Couter' in the early 70s, a duo that would become the group 'TC Matic' a few years later.
Group which separated in 1986 and which thus allowed the artist to fly on his own. Which released a first solo album the same year, an album with mixed success.
The albums "Charlatan", "Ratata" and "Idiots savants" which were released in 1988, 1990 and 1993 respectively did not do much better.
It was the following album "A la française" which finally allowed him in 1995 to see his solo career gain height. Notably thanks to titles like "Elle pense à lui", "Comme à Ostende" and "Les yeux de ma mère".
We find him 4 years later in 1999 with the album "A poil commercial", an album with certain success once again.
But it was above all the 2000s that would consecrate him with the production of the albums "Arno Charles Ernest" in 2002, "French bazaar" in 2004, "Jus de box" in 2007. Three albums which will remain as the best ranked of all his discography.
Other albums will be released later but none will be able to compete with those released during the 2010 decade.
Artist who will leave us on April 23, 2022 following pancreatic cancer.
