Kelly Marie, whose real name is Jacqueline McKinnon, is a Scottish singer who started her career at an early age, since she started singing competitions at the age of 12.
Then we find her at the age of 16 in the television hook-up "Oppotunity knocks" under the name of Kelly Brown, a competition that she will win no less than 4 times...
Media exposure which allows her to sign with the label Pye Records, label with which she released a first album "Who's that lady with my man" in 1976. Album which will allow her to obtain a first major success with the Single of same name. Single which will know its hour of glory especially in France and which will sell more than 300,000 copies, just that...
New success the following year in 1977 with the title "Run to me", this time the success extends to the United States.
In 1978, it was the title "Make love to me" which this time saw her extend her fame to the entire southern sphere, particularly in Australia and South Africa. Title taken from the album of the same name.
It was the year 1980 that would bring her the semblance of consecration after which she had been running since her debut thanks to the enormous single "Feels like I'm in love". A title originally written by Ray Dorset of Mungo Jerry and which intended this title for…Elvis Presley ! Which will never save it in the end and it is the young Kelly who will recover it suddenly. With the result that we know...
Unfortunately, she will be unable to capitalize on the enormous success encountered on this title and all that will be released thereafter will only know a level of the most limited success, which is surprising to say the least…
To discover or rediscover.

Clips :
1976...a first title in duet with Joe Dolan which will bring the young Jacqueline her first success. Certainly success limited to Ireland but it's better than nothing as they say...
1976...then surprisingly it was France that brought her her second success with this title. No one is a prophet in his country as the good old proverb says...
1976... ditto for this one. A second success in France which will at least have allowed her to make talking about her outside her natural borders...
1976...we never say 2 without 3 but in this case it will not be the case unfortunately. There will be no 3rd success in France with this title...
1977...new title which will pass 'through'. After a career start that was encouraging to say the least, the sequel turns out to be a little more complicated to manage than expected...
1977 ... she will succeed in reversing the steam in a spectacular way with this title. She offers her first global success here and now extends her fame to the whole world, just that !
1978...this one will do a little less well than its predecessor but we cannot speak of a real underperformance. Anyway, nothing to worry about at this stage...
1978...a title that will work mainly in the United States but it's still better than nothing as they say. As long as there is success somewhere, the essential is preserved, which is the case...
1978...for the year 1978, the title which will pass 'through' it will be this one. And yet the sound, just like the style, is trendy. Sometimes you don't have to try to understand...
1979... well for the year 1979, it will be this one. Times are hard for the singer and she cannot manage to get back on track in a consistent way. At least for now...
1980...then comes THE miracle ! She decides to revisit here the title of Mungo Jerry dating from 1977 and well takes her, it's the least we can say. The title will set fire to all the Dancefloors of the planet and offer her a direct ticket for posterity. MAS-TER-FUL !
1981...a quality sequel but unable to compete with the previous steamroller. It must be said that the bar has been set a little high...
1981...the beginning of the 80s which will have brought her the semblance of consecration after which she has been running since her beginnings. Not sure that she manages to reproduce the feat achieved on 'Feels like I'm in love' afterwards...
1981...despite a trendy sound and style, the sequel will be much more complicated to manage than expected. Starting with a pure and simple disappearance from the Charts !
1982...a turnaround that is incomprehensible to say the least because she is far from unworthy, that's clear. Hard law of the trade as they say...
1982 ... after that does not prevent her from continuing the adventure as she sees fit. Everyone leads his career as he wants after all...
1982...there are a plethora of titles but that is not enough to bring her back into the race as hoped. And yet she puts an obvious good will into it...
1982...four titles just for this year 1982 but none will be able to allow her to turn the tide. We must now count on a possible miracle...
1983...the art of going from one extreme to another. As much as the year 19845 will have been rich in titles, the year 1983 will be one of the poorest in this area. Like a semblance of disillusion...
1984...we were waiting for the miracle and it will almost happen with this title. She will deliver here an enormous Dance title which will allow her to come back to the surface in a spectacular way to say the least. Phew...
1984...the only problem is that the improvement will have been very short-lived because she plunges directly behind. When it no longer wants, it no longer wants...
1985 ... new year mono title which is never a good omen necessarily. When the title's release slows down drastically, it's often due to an inspiration that struggles to renew itself as it should...
1988...we will lose sight of her for almost 3 years and here she is back in a form that we will qualify as relative. Relative because this comeback will unfortunately not change the situation...
1988 ... yet she does everything possible to try to stick to the latest musical trends of the moment. But even the best of wishes will not be enough to put her back in the race...
1998... there it is downright a decade that will separate this title from the previous one. She tries yet another comeback but as for the previous ones, there will be no return to grace...
1999...an adventure that will go no further than the 90s. Anyway, she can always boast of having produced one of the flagship Dance titles of the early 80s, which does not is not nothing...
