Sandy Marton, whose real name is Aleksandar Marton, is a Croatian singer-songwriter whose father worked at the Yugoslav embassy in Italy. And this is how he arrived with his family in Milan in 1970, a city where he would be noticed a few years later at the age of 23 when he performed in a nightclub called Primadonna.
It was talent scout Claudio Cecchetto who first spotted him, signed him and allowed him to release a first Single in 1983 called “Ok Run” under the pseudonym M-Basic.
But it was above all a year later in 1984 that things seriously accelerated for the young singer when he released the Single "People from Ibiza", a Single which was a real global hit and projected him onto the front of the scene in a way that was, to say the least, shattering.
Success confirmed the following year in 1985 with the release of a major new Single called “Camel by Camel”. But it is above all the following, “Exotic & erotic”, which will offer the artist the second biggest success of his entire discography.
The year 1986 saw the release of a new Single “Modern lovers”, a single which would not go unnoticed far from there but which saw when the artist began to decline in terms of public enthusiasm.
His first album “Modern Lover”, which was also released in 1986, suffered somewhat from this beginning of decline, as did the Singles which were extracted from it.
A beginning of decline that will no longer be able to stop later.
