Nathalie Lhermitte is a French singer who started her artistic career at the age of 6 by integrating her father's group, a group called 'Les Sunshines' whose favorite field is rock variety. Group which will know its heyday in the 70s near Picardie.
A particularly precocious artist, she recorded at the age of 12 a first single called "Magic Plane", a title written by her father. Title which will unfortunately remain without tomorrow ...
Things started to pick up a little at the age of 16 when she landed a role in a TV movie called 'La dernière cigarette'.
But it is above all the meeting with the Konin sisters (renowned lyricists better known under the name of 'Vline Buggy') and a certain Julien Lepers (!) That will be decisive. Providential meeting which allows the release of the single "Il y a des jours comme ça". A title that finally allows to launch her career as a singer for good.
The big take off will take place a year later with the release in 1983, when she was only 17 years old, of the enormous "Tu es tout ce que j'aime". Title which will propel her on the front of the scene in a shattering way and which will sell around 400,000 copies, just that !
An artistic career that has grown to such an extent that she will even be expelled from her high school for repeated absenteeism, absenteeism due to her presence, precisely too repeated on the TV sets !
New single in 1984 with the title "Tendrement", title which will know a level of success of the most honorable and of which one of the luxury choristers is called ... Herbert Léonard, nothing less !
The sequel will be a little more complicated to manage than expected with the release of several singles that will not really know the expected success. She then turned to the credits of television series and we find her in particular on that of 'Demain l'amour' and 'Symphonie' in particular.
The end of the 80s will see her mainly record cartoon credits but also CDs for children.
Back in force from the early 1990s when she got the role of Cristal in the new version of 'Starmania'. Role she held for 2 years from 1990 to 1991 and then on tour.
A decade of the 90s that will definitely be those of musicals since she is found some time later in the musical 'Peter Pan'.
In the mid-1990s, she went on tour for 2 years with one of the legendary groups of the 1970s, namely 'The Rubettes'. Group with which she will record in 1994 the single "Believe in you". A transition to the English language which also sees her release another title in the wake called "Renegade". Title which will be released a year later in 1995.
Return to the musical from 1997 when she took over the role of Edith Piaf in the musical 'Piaf je t'aime'. Musical with a notorious success and which will allow her to end the decade in the best possible way.
The early 2000s saw her reprise the role of Oliver Twist in 2002 in the musical of the same name. Then the role of Guinevere and Viviane in the musical 'Merlin' in 2003.
She put on Piaf's costume again in 2004 in the show 'Piaf, une vie en rose et noir', a critically acclaimed show that would experience a most successful international destiny, the icing on the cake !
Then it was Brel who got her favors at the end of the 2000s, as she was found in 2009 in the musical show 'Brel, de Bruxelles aux Marquises'. She goes with 'Merlin l'Enchanteur' and then 'Shrek'.
During the decade of 2010, we will find her this time in the musical show 'La petite fille aux allumettes'. Then again in the role of Piaf in the middle of the decade.
Particularly endearing singer, she is one of the very rare artists of her generation to be still active and to have perfectly succeeded in her reconversion after the adventure of the 80s. In this respect alone, we can only salute this remarkable performance !
And it's not over, far from it. She may still surprise us in the years to come, that's for sure.

Tracks :
1978 ... the very first steps of a particularly precocious young singer. Who would imagine at this stage that a few years later she would sing one of the most beautiful Intimist songs in the French repertoire of the 80s ...
1982 ... we find her again 4 years later with this very simple title but which in itself sums up the sequence of events. The little Nathalie will do mainly in the Intimist and in this area, she will prove particularly effective !
1983 ... then comes THIS title. The title of a lifetime, the one that changes a destiny forever and that makes you fit One Shot into the musical legend of the 80s. Like what, sometimes, there is no point in having an extended discography to make the difference ...
1984 ... it is true that we often come close to the 'marshmallow' variety, but hey, this is its niche, we have known it from the start. How to blame her ...
1984 ... against all the current carrying standards, she decided to position herself deliberately on the 'emotional' niche. It is clear that at the competition level, it will not be jostled at the gate ...
1985 ... it is clear that with such a particular style, the summit of the Charts is downright unattainable. But we are in the 80s and the 80s, that's also it ...
1986 ... the years go by and the pretty Nathalie changes nothing, neither the style nor the sound. A constancy that necessarily marginalizes her but she clings, she resists and believes in it. Beautiful presence !
1986 ... she also sometimes signs the credits of a TV soap opera, just to vary the pleasures a little. A style that fits her like a glove, obviously ...
1986 ... we take the same and we start again with this new credits of a TV soap opera. She blatantly specializes in this area. And why not, it takes a lot of singers to make these famous credits for a TV soap opera ...
1987 ... then incredible reversal of the situation with this first Dance title. It was about time...but it is also too late. The competition is already light years away. Nice try but unfortunately it is a waste of time ...
1993 ... and finally, for the anecdote, her titles from the 90s. Well, it is true that we are light years away from the latest musical trends of the moment but hey, once again, how to blame her...
1993 ... a 90s decade like the previous one, that is to say very gently. A truly atypical singer who will have made her little way without worrying about criticism and competition. Beautiful self-sacrifice !
1994 ... no, no, you are not dreaming, it is The Rubettes with which she records this title. 20 years after their sensational arrival on the international scene thanks to a now cult title, it is now little Nathalie who serves them as Sugar Baby love. The Class !
1995 ... who would have believed it, here is our dear Nathalie now in English. And my gosh, she is far from being ridiculous. Especially when she plays it to us in Dance mode, an area that she really should have exploited a little more. But we will not repeat history unfortunately ...
Top Bonus : when Nathalie covers the mythical role of Cristal in Starmania in 1991, we imagine that it will pulsate. And inevitably it pulses !
Top Bonus : a title present in 2002 on the musical show 'Dantes : la vengeance de Monte-Cristo', a show that will never see the light of day. A title which literally floats in the air and which allows the singer to give the best of herself. MA-GIC !
Top Bonus : a title present in 2002 on the musical show 'Magic dream', a show that will never see the light of day. A title which literally floats in the air and which allows the singer to give the best of herself. Here, I have the impression of repeating myself ...
Top Bonus : the beginning of the 2000s which saw her take on the role of Oliver Twist in the musical of the same name in 2002. A male role that suits her perfectly !
Top Bonus : here she arrived in 2003 in the magical-esoteric world of Merlin the Enchanter. And the least we can say is that in the titles 'With emotions', she has not lost any of her expertise !
Top Bonus : she put on Piaf's costume again in 2004 in the show 'Piaf, une vie en rose et noir', a critically acclaimed show that will experience a most successful international destiny, the icing on the cake !
2009 ... she loves to cover sacred monsters. After Piaf, the time has come to reinterpret Brel. And as before for Piaf, it works perfectly. What talent !
2012 ... go from Brel to Shrek, this one had to be dared ! She will have done everything for us but she does it so well that we can only applaud the performance every time. And this whatever its role !
Top Bonus : what could be better than this nice synthesis of all its different roles. A super complete artist that nothing scares. Respect as they say !
Top Bonus : when you have talent, as they say, it's for life. We find the charming Nathalie in this decade of 2020 in a form that we will qualify as certain, with the key to a voice that has not lost any of its strength. We take, we take !
