Cutting Crew is an English group formed in London in 1985 by Nick Van Eede (real name Nicholas Eede), ex Drivers and Kevin Macmichael, ex Fast Forward. Which will be joined quickly by Colin Farley and Martin Beedle.

Group which released a first Single "(I just) Died in your arms" a year later in 1986 and for a first try, it is a real masterstroke. The Single will be a real worldwide hit and literally explode the notoriety of the group.

Single from the album "Broadcast" which also came out in 1986 and which will produce two other top hits which are "I've been in love before" and "One for the mockingbird".

Huge success that they find it difficult to confirm following high tensions within the group. Tensions linked to deep disagreements over the direction to be taken regarding the next stage of events.

They released all the same a new album "The scattering" in 1989, album which will not know anything about the success of its predecessor and which will struggle to produce a top hit worthy of the name. Except for the title "(Between a) Rock and a hard place" which will be the only title to pull out of the game. Two other Singles "Everything but my pride" and "The last thing" will be extracted from the same album but will not know only a very limited success.

Repeated failures which precipitated the downfall of the group, which eventually split up in 1993 after a last failure encountered on the release of the album "Compus mentus" in 1992.

Which does not prevent them from coming back later and producing new titles of obvious quality.

1986 ... a single title, THIS title, was enough to make them fit One Shot into the musical legend of the 80s. The group simply signs here one of the biggest titles of the decade and literally explodes on the international scene. MAS-TER-FUL !

1986 ... a year 1986 exceptional in all respects and which saw the group literally walk on water. This title will not have the same level of success as its predecessor but will come close to it. What more !

1987 ... the year 1987 starts again almost on the same bases as the year 1986. A dynamic of success which does not weaken of an Iota and which allows the group to remain with an ease more than obvious in the leading pack

1987 ... an inspiration at the top once again and which nevertheless does not prevent the group from falling in a rather incomprehensible way in the Charts. Sometimes you don't have to try to understand ...

1989 ... after an empty year 1988, just to recharge their batteries, the group returns in an obvious form in this year 1989. In any case sufficient form to see them temporarily return to the race ...

1989 ... unfortunately, the upturn will be short-lived. The group relapses in the wake and falls back into the depths of the Charts. Definitely, when it doesn't want anymore, it doesn't want anymore ...

1989 ... this title will do slightly better but what is certain is that the group will never find again the level of incredible success that he will have known during the year 1986. And yet they are far from unworthy, it's clear...

1990 ... they will attempt the transition to the 90s with a high class Intimist title. Despite the quality of the latter, this will not change the situation and they will get here a last 'little' hit ...

1992 ... a nice ballad to end the adventure. A great adventure which will have allowed them all the same to write one of the most beautiful musical pages of the 1980s. A feat that we can only salute once again !

2006... when we thought the case was definitely over, here they are back almost 14 years later. A return for the less unexpected but which will delight the basic fans necessarily...

2006...a comeback that will unfortunately go somewhat unnoticed. Disappearing for so long is not without consequence and the public does not give a gift in these cases...

2006... whatever it may be, we can still see that the group has not lost talent and that this return is anything but devoid of interest, that's for sure...

2015...we lose sight of them again for almost 9 years and here they are again. Repeated air holes that do not help to retain the general public that's for sure...

2015... after, as long as they have things to offer why would they deprive themselves of doing it ? It doesn't matter if they come back 5, 10, 15 after in the end...

2015... so we imagine that this title will surely not be the last because we now know that with them, everything is always possible. To be continued...
