Sarah McLachlan is a Canadian singer-songwriter who began her artistic career at the age of 17 in a short-lived group called 'The October Game'.
It is the signing with the Nettwerk label that will allow her to release in 1988 a first album called "Touch", an album which will know a nice success of esteem and offer her her first classified title with the Single "Vox".
Success confirmed and amplified three years later with the release in 1991 of the album "Solace", an album which mainly produced the hit Single "The path of Thorns (Terms)". Ditto for "Fumbling towards ecstasy" which was released in 1993 and which produced its first global hit with the title "Possession".
She will have to wait four more years and the year 1997 to finally reach the top of the mountain with the release of the album "Surfacing", album which will remain as the highest ranked of all her discography. Album that will sell more than 16 million copies and produce no less than 4 planetary hits including 2 mega with "Angel" and "Adia", just that !
We will lose sight of her for almost 6 years before she returns in 2003 with the album "Afterglow", an album once again with certain success and which will produce the huge Single "Fallen".
Title which will be her last major but that will not prevent her from continuing the adventure and producing other albums and other Singles with significant success.

Tracks :
1985...a first title within a group that was short-lived to say the least but which would at least have the merit of launching the career of the young Sarah...
1988...the start, the real one, will take place 3 years later. A first solo title which will bring her a first big success which can only confirm her in the choice to continue the adventure thereafter...
1989...certainly the success is limited to say the least and focuses exclusively on the North American sphere but it's still better than nothing...
1990...the 80s allowed her to hatch and gain strength slowly but surely. It remains to be seen what this new decade of the 90s has in store for her...
1991... the level of success in the Charts increases title after title and proves de facto that the young singer is on a most positive dynamic...
1991... certainly not all the titles will benefit from the same favorable treatment but that is nothing to worry about at this stage in any case...
1992...the successes follow one another but always remain limited to the North American sphere. So she will have to work again and again...
1992...especially since some titles continue to go 'through' which shows that nothing is certain at this stage...
1992...a year 1992 which had started well but ended in freewheeling. And yet the titles that will be released this year are far from deserving...
1993... she will release 3 titles in 1992 and only one in 1993. A single title but with a success clearly superior to the titles which preceded it...
1994...productivity starts to rise again in this new year 1994 and this time all the titles that will be released that year will be classified...
1994...they will be classified but we cannot speak of a top hit at this stage but rather of a 'little' hit. The road to the summits is still long...
1994...it is this title that will come out the best in the end during this year 1994. But the success remains once again limited to the North American sphere...
1995 ... a year 1995 which does not start under the best auspices since this new title will pass squarely under the radars ...
1995...she decides to embark on the luxury cover and she revisits here the title of Tom Waits dating from 1973. Daring bet and partially successful bet...
1995 ... and here comes THE title that will finally give her a first world-class hit. It took her a while to pick it up but it's now done !
1995...a year resolutely oriented towards luxury covers. She revisits here the title of XTC dating from 1986 and like her previous cover, the success will be relative to say the least...
1996...a title full of finesse and lightness that only asks to do good to our ears. And it definitely does...
1997...then comes the tipping point. Until then the singer was content to shine on the North American continent but she decided to move up a gear at first sight...
1997...a year 1997 which saw her take off in a way that was impressive to say the least with 2 top hits lined up one after the other. The McLachlan rocket has finally taken off...
1998...there we are no longer talking about top hits but downright mega hits. The singer will have taken 10 years to reach the top of the mountain but it is now done !
1998...and it is THIS fine title that will bring her the biggest success of her entire discography. A mega success that rhymes with a direct ticket for posterity !
1999...impossible for this title to compete with the previous steamroller, resulting in a drop in the Charts that was violent and altogether unexpected...
2000...a know-how in the 'emotional' register which is no longer to be confirmed and which allows her to produce titles of more than certain quality. The proof once again with this title !
2003...here she confirms that she is indeed one of the phenomena of the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s. And this is only fair reward...
2004...the great adventure continues but the deceleration in the Charts is certain and somewhat challenging. Slight air hole or beginning of a deceleration that is irreversible to say the least ?
2004... she will save the furniture in extremis with this title but we will still have to be attentive to the following events...
2004...and there is reason to worry because this title will pass 'through' unfortunately. And that doesn't necessarily bode well for the rest of the adventure...
2005...another title that will go somewhat unnoticed. The singer will have to straighten the bar and quickly otherwise the exit door may come closer faster than expected...
2006... it is thanks to this luxury cover of Joni Mitchell's title dating from 1971 that she will succeed in getting back in the race a little bit. Hope it lasts...
2006...she says to herself that as her previous cover worked rather well she could perhaps do it again with this revisited version of John Lennon's title dating from 1971. Nice try but limited success to say the least...
2006...here she revisits the title of Judy Garland dating from 1944 and her version, despite a certain quality, will not bring much more than the thousands of covers already made of this title...
2007...a nice title which would have deserved a little more recognition than it was because it is far from devoid of interest. Hard law of the trade...
2007...it's the soundtrack of the film 'Charlotte's web' which will save in extremis this year 2007. Once again thanks to a title which literally floats in the air as she knows how to do them so well...
2008...after a slight slump in the middle of the decade, she more or less manages to hang up the lead at the end of the decade. Like what in music nothing is ever finished...
2009...she reached 20 years of career and seems determined to continue the adventure as far as possible. We can only encourage her in this direction...
2009...a 2000 decade that had started in the best of ways and ended somewhat halfheartedly. Now it remains to be seen what the next decade has in store for her...
2010...a new decade which starts quite well with a first success to add to a prize list which is starting to count a hell of a bunch...
2010...she regained its level of success at the beginning of the 90s, a relative level of success but all the same. Either way, she'll have to be happy...
2011...a 2010 decade that will prove to be more and more complicated to manage with a violent fall in the level of success in the Charts, to say the least...
2011...all the titles that will be released now will go under the radar or will only experience a very limited level of success...
2012...one of the few titles of the decade to pull out of the game. She'll have to take advantage of it because it won't happen often during this decade...
2013...the proof with this title which will go unnoticed to say the least. It must be said that at some point too much Intimist kills the Intimist, it is clear...
2013... after everyone pursues their career as they see fit and as long as she enjoys doing what she does why would she decide to change course suddenly...
2014...especially since she still manages to classify a minimum of certain titles, which can only comfort her in continuing to work in the same direction...
2014...new passage 'through' but we are starting to get used to it during this decade of 2010. She does everything she can in any case to keep herself afloat...
2015...in any case, that doesn't stop her from continuing to produce nice titles like this one. And we're bound to ask for more...
2016... will this title be the last, good question. There is only her to answer this kind of question and we will therefore have to wait to see if she decides to come back at one time or another...
2024...
