Johnnie Taylor was an American singer-songwriter who began his artistic career in the 1950s with the Gospel choir Highway QCs, with which he released a single “Somewhere to lay my head”.
He really started his solo career in the early 1960s when he recorded in 1962 a first single "Rome wasn’t built in a day", a single which unfortunately never saw the light of day ...
He will have to wait another year and the year 1963 to finally see his hopes come true with the release of the single "Baby, we've got love", a title that will allow the young singer to finally see his career take off for good.
And it was 5 years later in 1968 that he achieved a semblance of consecration with the enormous title "Who's making love", a title which allowed him to reach a level of notoriety commensurate with his talent.
The real consecration would come 8 years later with the release of the huge single "Disco Lady", a single that will remain as his biggest single record success.
A great adventure which unfortunately ended for good on May 31, 2000 when he suffered a heart attack at the age of 66.

1976 ... a year 1976 which really sees him on his own. Everything succeeds him and successes follow one another at an impressive speed to say the least. Of course, this title will do less well than its predecessor but we will largely be satisfied with it !
1977 ... of course he will never repeat the feat achieved on "Disco Lady" but the adventure will continue quietly but surely. When we see what he continues to produce, who would complain ...
1978 ... in the middle of the Disco period, it would have been surprising if he didn't ride the wave. He won't be the best in this area but he doesn't have to be ashamed of what he has to offer, that's clear ...
1979 ... a very dance-oriented end of the 70s. It must be said that if he wants to stay a minimum in the race, it's a bit the obligatory style of the moment ...
