Living Color is an American band formed in New York in 1984 and originally composed of Vernon Reid, Alex Mosely, Jerome Harris, Carl James, Greg Carter, Pheeroan Aklaff, Geri Allen, D.K. Dyson and Mark ledford.
Group which released a first album "Vivid" in 1988, album which will offer the group a first major success and propel them to the front of the stage in a sensational way to say the least. In particular thanks to the Single "Cult of personality" which was released the same year but also with "Glamour boys" which was released a year later in 1989.
New album "Time's up" two years later in 1990 with a worldwide success which extends but this opus will not be able to equal the success met by its predecessor in particular in the United States. Album which will mainly produce the singles “Type” the same year and “Love rears it ugly head” in 1991.
It was the turn of the album "Stain" to be released in 1993, an album which confirmed the public's enthusiasm for the group but which also confirmed the slow deceleration of the group. A slow deceleration which will end up undermining the foundations of the group, which ends up separating in 1995.
The group will rise from its ashes thereafter but will never again find the level of success reached at the end of the 80s unfortunately...

Clips :
1988...a first title for the less punchy. And this is only the beginning because given what is on the horizon, it should be like this throughout their career...
1988... a punchy side that will pay off from the second title to the point of giving them their first planetary top hit. Who would have thought that possible...?
1989...and this dazzling success is anything but an accident since they confirm with this title that they have indeed become one of the phenomena of the moment in just 2 years. Impressive...
1989...at the beginning we think that the group will show us a more refined side of their talent but the hope will be quickly disappointed. Which doesn't prevent them from signing their 3rd top hit, just that...
1989...a title that will paradoxically 'go through' but no need to worry about them at the end of 1989 because they still have under the pedal the little guys...
1990...business picks up impressively at the start of the new decade. All in a format for the less punchy once again...
1991...the band continues to unroll with ease, to say the least. And still this totally improbable style from a band that we would have seen more in R&B than in rock...
1991... amazing change of style and sound on this track. As a result, the fans of the first hour do not necessarily find themselves there at first sight...
1991... drive out the natural, it comes back at a gallop. They find here their fundamentals but that will not be enough to make the public come back more than that unfortunately...
1991...a year 1991 which had frankly started well and which will end in general indifference. Sometimes you don't have to try to understand...
1991...there will be quantity during this year 1991 but often quantity is not necessarily synonymous with guaranteed success. Something they will learn the hard way...
1992... suddenly they will reduce the sails considerably during this year 1992 with only one title on the clock. Only one title but which will be classified, that's already that...
1993...a year 1993 which started off with a bang with this new top hit, that's the good news. For the news, it's that this top hit will indeed be the last of the band...
1993... the drop in the Charts will be severe to say the least and the group will not succeed in stemming the collapse more than that. Hard law of the trade...
1993... they will save the furniture a little bit on this title, but only just. It is clear that the best is now behind them...
1993 ... they will always have had trouble with the end of the year and this year 1993 will not cut it. Times are getting tougher and tougher for the band and the lights are turning orange at first sight...
1994...a new single-title year, moreover, in luxury cover mode, all thanks to this revisited version of the Cream title dating from 1967. A daring bet but which will pay off in the end in the Charts...
2003...we will lose sight of them and here they are back 9 years later in a form that we will qualify as certain. Certain but not enough to bring them back in the race in any case...
2003... whatever it is, what they offer at the start of the 2000s is far from devoid of interest. We take anyway...
2003...their sound was already, to say the least, punchy from their debut and the weight of the years hasn't helped. But we won't remake them again as they say...
2009...new air hole of 6 years and here they are again. They won't let go until the end and no matter the results - or lack of results - in the Charts...
2009...they save the furniture by managing to classify the albums, which allows them to manage to stay afloat a little bit. Hope it lasts...
2009...a group that can still boast of still being there 20 years after starting their career, which isn't the case for all the groups that started at the same time as them, that's 'is on...
2017... the air holes follow one another but they come back each time, and it is surely not the basic fans who would complain about it...
2017...knowing that they come back again and again, so we imagine that this title should not be the last. It remains to be seen when they will decide to put the cover back on...
