Break the stride...

Very little information about Matthew Wilder, except that he is an American singer-songwriter who will remain mainly in the musical history of the 80s for the title “Break my stride” released in 1983. Single which will experience a nice success on a planetary level that year.

As such, he deserved this article.

1982 ... a first title which allows the singer to offer himself a beginning of recognition. Certainly there is still work to be done but the beginnings are rather encouraging

1983 ... then comes THIS title. The title of a lifetime, the one that propels One Shot to the height of fame and offers a free ticket to posterity. HU-GE !

1983 ... as often in these cases, impossible to repeat the feat in stride. The singer plunges directly into the depths of the Charts and this despite a title of certain quality. Hard law of the trade ...

1984 ... furtive return of success thanks to this particularly punchy title and in a style so typical of the mid-1980s. A model of its kind !

1985 ... an ephemeral career to say the least, which lasted only 3 years but which nevertheless produced one of the biggest hits of the decade. It's already that !

2020...while we thought we would never see him again, here he is showing up at the very beginning of the 2020 decade. Who would have believed it...

2021...he will even return the following year with a new opus, a totally unexpected and above all unhoped for return. The basic fans are obviously over the moon...

2021...certainly it's more of an album of instrumental music than anything else but better that than nothing at all...

2021... what's more, there is quality in all of this which doesn't spoil anything, quite the contrary. So, will we see him again afterwards, good question...
