Bird of paradise...

Snowy White, whose real name is Terence White, is an English guitarist who started his artistic career at the age of 17 with a trio called 'The Train'. Adventure without a future unfortunately…

Then we find him at the beginning of the 70s as a backup guitarist for certain groups, including 'Heavy Heart' in particular.

But it was above all his arrival in 1977 as a reinforcement in a small group called...'Pink Floyd' (!) that his career took a very different turn. His performances did not go unnoticed and he was thus noticed by the group 'Thin Lizzy'.

He thus integrates the group while continuing to perform with 'Pink Floyd', a wobbly situation that will quickly lead him to have to make a choice. And in the end he will decide to leave 'Thin Lizzy' during 1982…

We will find him later in several groups like 'Snowy's White Blues Agency', 'Snowy White & The White Flames' and other 'Snowy White Blues Project'...

Groups in which he produced a significant number of albums during the 90s, 2000s, 2010s in particular.

1980...the young Terence goes to school in grouped mode, first with Pink Floyd then Thin Lizzy. There are worse bands to start your career...

1980... he will participate mainly in 2 albums with Thin Lizzy and that will be enough in any case to position him in an ideal way for the following events. In particular the future solo career...

1981...a band with obvious rock fundamentals. And yet it is not really this kind of fundamentals that we will find in the solo career and the musical style of the young Terence...

1982...but as they say you have to start well one day. A grouped adventure which will end in this year 1982 and which will open the doors to a long, very long solo career...

1983...an explosive start to his solo career, since he delivered one of the most significant titles of the decade. And at the same time afford the biggest success of his entire career, just that. MAS-TER-FUL !

1983...a sequel that has little to do with what preceded it, to say the least. As much in terms of style as in terms of success in the Charts...

1984... for the moment the singer sticks more or less to the musical standards of the moment but it will not last like that very long...

1984...a title where we already feel like a slight reorientation of sound and style. It's what we call being between 2 waters as they say...

1985... the artist will never be able to repeat the feat achieved in 1983 but what he continues to offer is far from deserving. From there to finish No.1 in the Charts, there is a step...

1986...the 80s will see him try to stick as much as he can to the musical standards of the moment with more or less success. But he tries anyway...

1986...difficult to situate him on the musical chessboard of this decade of the 80s because he goes through all styles, from the slowest to the most rhythmic. But at some point, he will settle down, that's for sure...

1988...and the changeover takes place at the very end of the 80s. He will suddenly switch to the Blues, a musical target heart that he will keep until the end...

1988...surprising when you see how he started his career. He will have gone from pure and hard rock to Blues in just a few years and this in a way that is surprising to say the least...

1994 ... all the rest of the career will therefore revolve around the Blues. A core target that will inevitably marginalize him in the long term...

1994...afterwards he totally assumes it. Even if there is a price to pay, especially on the Charts side, he considers that doing what he loves and only what he loves is the most important...

1995...especially since he was really going to switch to pure and hard Blues. He could have tried to mix modern influences and more traditional Blues influences but it will not really be the case...

1995...except for a few very rare titles. It will therefore be necessary to be satisfied with the bare minimum in this area, it is clear...

1998...the more the years will pass and the more the fundamental Blues will become omnipresent on each title. Afterwards, he is the one who leads his career as he sees fit...

1998...an artist who will have chosen a career path and above all a musical style that few others will have dared to take. At least when you see where he started from when he started...

1999...a career on the fringes of the system, glitter and rhinestones. The desire to evolve freely where the wind leads him musically speaking now seems preponderant for the artist...

1999...a decade of the 90s which saw him radically change his style and orient himself on a path of his own. A phenomenon that will increase in the next decade...

2002...it's clear that only grassroots fans follow him now. Because how to capture the younger generations with such a particular musical style...

2002... after everyone pursues his career as he sees fit. While a good number of colleagues who started at the same time as him have already disappeared, he is still there anyway...

2005...especially since its production of titles remains plethoric, which underlines all the more the performance achieved. He lasts and he produces, already not badly as they say...

2005...especially since the adventure is far, far from over. It is certain that those who love its style can only be delighted to see him last so long...

2009...four albums released during the 2000s, that's something, that's for sure. Admittedly, 4 opuses that are very similar but difficult to vary in this very particular style...

2011...and here he is beginning his 5th decade of career, just that. Always faithful to the post and always this desire to continue the adventure at all costs...

2011...the years go by, just like the decades, and he remains outside of any trend and any notorious sound evolution. A bias that protects him as much as it isolates him...

2012...a title 'at the crossroads' as he says himself. And yet, he absolutely does not intend to change his musical path at first sight...

2016... as long as he can he will continue his merry way in his own way and certainly not as others would like to impose on him. A desire for freedom that unquestionably commands respect...

2016...after, as always, freedom at a price. That of being permanently on the fringes of the system and having to fight twice as hard as the others to achieve the same result...

2017... the challenges do not scare him at first sight. He will continue like this until the end and it doesn't matter if he may have missed out on a much more glorious career...

2017 ... he still happens from time to time to mix rock influences and Blues influences. It's rare for him, but it does happen...

2019...a new decade that is coming to an end and which sees him still as motivated as in the past. His desire to last is impressive to say the least...

2019...especially since he doesn't intend to stop there. He makes it a point of honor to return during each decade and the next one will not cut it...

2020...he will add a 6th decade to his career here, who would have thought it possible when he started his career in the 1970s. Not many people, that's for sure...
