Are you really real...?

Force M.D.s is an American group formed in 1981 in New York and originally composed of brothers Antoine, Rodney and Stevie Lundy as well as their uncle Jessie Daniels.

Group which signs with the label Tommy Boy Records in 1984, label which allows them to release a first album named "Love letters". Album with a great success of esteem and which will produce no less than 4 classified titles including "Forgive me girl" which will be the only one to be classified on both sides of the Atlantic.

Success confirmed and especially amplified the following year with the release of the album "Chilin'", album from which will be extracted what will remain as their biggest success on the Singles side, namely "Tender love".

On the albums side, it is the album "Touch and go", which was released two years later in 1987, which will remain as the highest ranked of all, in particular thanks to the flagship Single "Love is a house".

Big success which will be the last unfortunately because everything that will come out thereafter will only know a level of success after all limited.

1984...first title and already first success, certainly only in the R&B Charts but it's already better than nothing as they say. It's off to a pretty good start...

1984...this time they do indeed appear in the so-called Official Charts. In a single year they will have already succeeded in integrating the Court of the greats, a great achievement in itself...

1985... the following year the success now extends to both sides of the Atlantic. The rise in power is linear and necessarily promises something big...

1985... the group confirms title after title that he is not there by chance. While waiting for the title that will finally allow them to stand out from the crowd...

1985...and the famous title here IT is. It is with this fine title that they will obtain the biggest success of all their discography and a direct ticket for posterity at the same time. MA-GIC !

1986...a sequel that does not lack quality, far from it, but which will be unable to compete with the title that preceded it. We'll be fine with it anyway...

1986...the group is good in all registers, it has to be said. Versatility of style of the most appreciable and which does not harm quite the contrary...

1986...even if the versatility is proven, it is the Intimist domain that will always remain their core target. Who would complain given what they manage to produce in this particular area...

1986...we would have liked them to alternate the tempos a little more but that won't often be the case. We won't remake them again as they say...

1987...new planetary top hit and once again all in finesse which inevitably encourages them not to change anything in terms of tempo...

1987...a bias for glamor and sensuality perfectly assumed and which will forever remain their trademark...

1988...even if they won their biggest successes in the 'emotional' register, this famous register risks marginalizing them in the long term by dint of coming back to it constantly...

1988... so they say to themselves that it might be worth stepping up the pace a bit. Paradoxically, it will not bring them more than that...

1989...even when they team up with colleagues for a title, they can't help but step back into their comfort zone. On the other hand, it is precisely their comfort zone that brings them the most...

1990...the exception that makes the rule. They will finally get a major hit on pure and hard Dance but it will have been necessary to wait for the passage to the decade 90 to attend it...

1990... hunt the natural it comes back at a gallop. We suspected that the Dance parenthesis was not going to last very long and we were not mistaken on this one...

1992... the last classified title, and yes already. Surprising because for the moment the group was unrolling quietly and aligning hit after hit...

1994... what is certain, however, is that the adventure is far from over. It's simply the high-level adventure that stopped in 1992...

1994... that does not prevent them from continuing to believe in it and in principle they are absolutely right. Because we know that in music everything is always possible...

1994...an exit from the Charts for the less surprising considering what they continue to produce but indeed real. Hard law of the trade...

2017...we thought the case was definitely closed on the previous title but here they are back almost 20 years later to the delight of their basic fans...

2017...and of course we find them in their favorite field, the Intimist. Decades may pass but they do not change at first sight, at least in their musical aspirations...

2017... whatever it is, it's better to see them return to their comfort zone once again than not at all. At least they still exist...

2020...a desire to believe in it until the end which undoubtedly commands respect. Because they are still there, which is not the case for a bunch of groups that started at the same time as them...
