Shanice, whose real name is Shanice Wilson-Knox, is an American singer-songwriter who entered her artistic career very early by being noticed at the age of 9 alongside Ella Fitzgerald in an advertisement for a fast food chain very well known food specializing in chicken.
She was found two years later on the children's show 'Kids Incorporated', in which she became one of the key characters. Then in another show called 'Star Search'. We are then in 1984.
It is the signing in the wake with the A&M Records which will damn accelerate the things with the release of a first album "Discovery" in 1987. Album which will propel her in a sensational way on the front of the scene with a first big success thanks to the single "(Baby tell me) Can you dance". And to a lesser extent “No ½ steppin”.
Success which opens many doors to her and which allows her especially to sign with the label Motown Records. Label which allows her to release a new album "Inner child" in 1991, album which remains to this day his biggest success on the album side. And which also allow her to win the timpani on the single side with the title "I love your smile". The title will make a huge success and make her one of the phenomena of the moment.
Another notorious success the following year in 1992 thanks to the single "Saving forever for you", single on the soundtrack of a small series called...Beverly Hills, just that !
Unfortunately, as she was seen to continue like this for years to come, the release of the album "21...Ways to grow" and above all - his relative success - will put the brakes on her rise to the stars somewhat.
And it is not the release of other albums afterwards that will prevent her from slowly disappearing, but surely, radars in the years that will follow ...
To discover or rediscover.

Clips :
1987 ... first title and first notable success. A career start for the less ideal and above all a very good omen for the rest of the events !
1987 ... a perfect start that the young singer will not succeed in transforming with this title. She will therefore have to redouble her efforts to manage to remain at the highest level ...
1988 ... especially since she displays a very interesting Dance/Intimist versatility. It would therefore be a shame to waste such potential ...
1988 ... an end of the decade that she really struggles with. And yet, what she continues to deliver is far from unworthy. Hopefully this big air hole is only temporary ...
1991 ... she will take 3 years of break to finally find its original level. Three years in which she completely disappears from radars but which will allow her to recharge her batteries like never before ! Here she is quite simply signing the biggest success of her entire career and finally inscribes her name in the musical Pantheon of the 80s. HU-GE !
1992 ... once again the relapse is severe. Incomprehensibly, she never manages to capitalize on her biggest titles. Sometimes you don't have to try to understand ...
1992 ... she will try the shock and charm duo mode to try to get back on the race. The result will once again be up to par but all in all limited in the Charts ...
1992 ... a bloated 1992 in terms of titles but with a particularly disappointing success for the most part. A career in seesaw to say the least surprising given the potential of the singer ...
1992 ... it is the cult series 'Beverly Hills' which will save in a big way its year 1992. We suspected that with such potential in the Intimist, she would not go 'through' indefinitely...
1993 ... as the year 1992 was rich in titles, as the year 1993 will seem somewhat pale next to it with only one title on the clock. But a quality title is already that !
1994 ... back in force in this year 1994. Once again she will put the package on the titles side but once again, the result in the Charts will not be up to par. Definitely ...
1994 ... an Intimist area in which she excelled from start to finish. But who will not have earned her more than that except with rare exceptions ...
1994 ... a year 1994 resolutely oriented towards the 'With emotions' register. It starts from a good feeling necessarily but it might have been necessary to alternate more importantly Intimist titles and especially Dance titles. And this from the beginning ...
1995 ... as much her first participation on a soundtrack had shattered everything, as this one will go somewhat 'through'. And yet, once again, the smoothness and finesse make this track a perfectly successful track. But this is not always enough unfortunately ...
1999 ... this time it's a 4 years air gap that will separate this title from the previous title. We could have thought she was definitely lost but it was bad to know her. Here she is back in this year 1999 in a certain form. Phew ...
1999 ... even if she will not achieve any major success until the end, what she continues to offer us largely holds up. Isn't that the main thing ...
2001 ... she will even attempt the transition to the 2000s. And the least we can say is that she has not lost any of her talent in the Intimist, it is clear...
2013 ... the convincing results in the Charts will be very limited during the 2000s, but that does not prevent her from continuing its adventure for whatever reason. Here we are now in 2013. Who would have believed it ...
2014 ... more than 25 years after her debut, still loyal to the job and in top form. An incredible longevity that she owes only to her talent and this in an undeniable way ...
2015 ... an adventure that continues again and again with this new title. New title which comes to be added to an already particularly well supplied discography but how far will she go, good question. Only the future will tell us...
